The Impact of the NHASF

Supporting Newark's
Next Generation.

Established in 1988, the Newark Housing Authority Scholarship Foundation (NHASF) has provided financial assistance to students who reside in Newark Housing Authority residences and need support to attend college or university.

The Foundation’s commitment to our youth is strong, and our impact is great. To date, over $2,500,000 in scholarships and financial assistance for costs related to post-secondary education have been provided to over 500 scholars in need. These ambitious young scholars are often the first in their families to attend college and break the cycle of poverty.

The scholarship fund is critical to the success of those students who have proven their desire to continue their education after high school. This program aims to increase the likelihood of this happening and provide the necessary support every step of the way.

Recipients have attended local, regional, and nationally recognized schools and universities such as Spelman College, Rutgers University, Montclair State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, New Jersey City University, Bloomfield College, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Kean University, Allegheny College, Caldwell College, University of Bridgeport, and more.
